Cookie and similar technologies policy of fotkyzakce.cz
Last updated: 5 September 2026
This policy explains how the fotkyzakce.cz service uses cookies, localStorage and similar technologies on the website https://fotkyzakce.cz and in related parts of the Service.
The Service does not use advertising cookies or advertising profiling.
Changing or withdrawing consent
You can change the choice anytime with the button below. The bar opens again so you can accept or reject analytics.
After consent is withdrawn we stop using analytics for further visits and, according to technical possibilities, remove analytics cookies set on the Service domain.
Cookies and localStorage can also be removed manually in the browser settings.

What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small data files or values that a web browser stores or sends when visiting a website.
We also use localStorage, meaning browser storage that can keep, for example, an appearance choice or other settings.
Some technologies are necessary for the feature the user requests to work. Others, in particular analytics technologies, we activate only after the relevant consent.
Two different modes of the Service
From a cookies perspective fotkyzakce.cz has two different worlds:
- landing, registration, sign-in and Organizer administration, where basic analytics may be used after consent;
- a guest Album, PIN, live slideshow and ZIP link, where we do not use analytics and only technical or user-requested preferences are used.
That is why a cookie bar is not ordinarily shown in a guest Album: neither analytics nor advertising cookies are activated there.
Necessary technologies
Necessary technologies exist so the Service can work and safely provide the feature the user requests.
Storing or reading them does not require consent to the extent they are truly necessary.
Website language
After you switch language in the header we store a NEXT_LOCALE cookie (at most 1 year) so the next visit to fotkyzakce.cz opens that language. Category: necessary preference.
Organizer session
After the Organizer signs in we use a security session cookie that keeps them signed in.
- purpose: sign-in and account security;
- type: HTTP-only authentication cookie;
- server session: about 7 days from the last relevant activity; it may be renewed while in use;
- category: necessary.
The technical cookie name may change with the implementation version; the legal purpose remains the same.
guest_session
A guest Album uses the guest_session cookie.
It is used in particular so that, within one specific Album, the Service can:
- recognize an anonymous Guest;
- know which Media are theirs;
- remember the technical authorization state after the correct PIN is entered.
The cookie is technically limited to a specific Album and is not intended to track a Guest across different Albums.
- period: at most 30 days, unless the Guest deletes it earlier;
- category: necessary.
Deleting this cookie may mean the Guest loses the ability to mark previously uploaded photos as “mine” and delete them through their original visit.
Preference data in localStorage
The Service may store preferences in the browser that make the site easier to use.
Currently this is in particular:
| Preference | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| UI theme | light / dark / system appearance | localStorage |
| Guest’s last display name | pre-filling the name on the next upload; does not link Albums on the server | localStorage |
| Live slideshow settings | interval, layout or similar choices for the given device / Album | localStorage |
| Analytics cookie choice | remembering “Accept” or “Reject” | localStorage or equivalent local storage |
| Website language | remembering CZ / EN / SK after you switch it in the header | NEXT_LOCALE cookie, at most 1 year |
These data can be removed by clearing website data in the browser.
For the analytics choice we aim to remember granted consent for at most a reasonable period; as a default rule we use at most 12 months. If the user rejects analytics, we do not ask again without a significant change of circumstances earlier than about 6 months, unless they clear website data in the meantime.
Google Analytics 4
On marketing and organizational pages we may use Google Analytics 4 for basic traffic measurement.
Google Analytics is activated only after consent. Before consent, analytics storage is not activated.
Analytics may process in particular:
- information about the visit;
- a browser identifier created by Analytics;
- approximate country or region;
- browser and device information;
- visited pages;
- basic interactions with the website.
Typical Google Analytics cookies may include:
| Name | Purpose | Activation | Typical maximum period |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | distinguishing visits in Google Analytics | only after consent | up to 2 years according to Google settings |
| _ga_[ID] | keeping the measurement state of a specific GA4 property | only after consent | up to 2 years according to Google settings |
The specific period may be shorter according to the current Analytics configuration.
Where we do not use Google Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics or other marketing analytics on:
- /a/[id] - the guest gallery;
- the PIN page of a specific Album;
- /a/[id]/live - live slideshow;
- /d/[token] - the ZIP link.
On those pages therefore:
- there is no analytics cookie bar;
- _ga* cookies are not set by the Service;
- we do not send a specific Album identifier to Google Analytics.
Analytics consent
On the first relevant visit to a page where analytics is available, the website may offer the choice Accept or Reject.
Rejection must be available in the same layer and comparably easy as acceptance.
Until the user accepts analytics, Google Analytics is not activated.
Rejecting analytics does not limit ordinary use of the account, creating Albums, or guest uploading and browsing.
Google and Microsoft when connecting storage
If the Organizer chooses Connect Google Drive or Connect OneDrive, they are redirected in the OAuth process to Google or Microsoft pages.
Those external pages may use their own cookies and security technologies according to their own policies and the Organizer’s account settings.
Those cookies are not activated by our cookie banner. They arise only when the Organizer knowingly interacts with the relevant external service.
Transactional e-mail and infrastructure
Providers of web infrastructure, API, CDN or transactional e-mail may process technical data in ordinary network operation, for example an IP address or request headers.
Not every such technical operation means a cookie is stored on your device.
Details about providers are in the Privacy policy.
Advertising and profiling
fotkyzakce.cz currently:
- does not use Google AdSense or another advertising system;
- does not use advertising cookies;
- does not sell cookie data;
- does not profile Guests for advertising;
- does not track a Guest across different Albums for marketing purposes.
Impact of blocking or deleting cookies
Blocking analytics cookies will not affect the basic features of the Service.
Blocking or deleting necessary cookies may however cause, for example:
- the Organizer being signed out;
- the need to enter the PIN again;
- loss of technical recognition of the Guest’s own Media;
- some security features not working.
Clearing localStorage may lose only local preferences, for example theme, name hint or live slideshow settings.
Further information about personal data
Details about:
- categories of personal data;
- purposes and legal bases;
- providers;
- transfers outside the EEA;
- retention periods and data-subject rights
are set out in the Privacy policy of fotkyzakce.cz.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when technologies, providers, Service settings or legal requirements change.
The current version is marked with the date of the last update.
If there is a material change of the purpose of analytics processing or of providers and new consent is required, we will ask the user for a new choice.
