How OneDrive works

How to set it up

1. Create an album and choose OneDrive.
2. Sign in with a personal Microsoft account (Outlook, Hotmail, or Microsoft 365 Personal / Family). A work account will not work.
3. Microsoft asks for permission. If it says the app is not verified yet, continue.
4. Photos go to Apps/fotkyzakce OneDrive / album name.
5. Share the QR code. Guests upload without a Microsoft account.

Where files go

The app creates the album folder inside the app folder: Apps/fotkyzakce OneDrive / album name. You cannot pick a different folder. Guest originals go there. Original download and lightbox video come from OneDrive through us, not a public link.

What Microsoft shows

A fotkyzakce.cz account is email and password. Connecting OneDrive is separate, after you create an album. Microsoft asks whether we may save photos into the app folder - we cannot see the rest of your OneDrive. Only a personal account works. Work OneDrive, SharePoint, and work/school accounts cannot be connected.

Guests never see OneDrive

Guests do not approve Microsoft and do not need a Microsoft account. A public link from the OneDrive folder would bypass the album PIN - so we do not use one.

The space is yours

Space is your Microsoft account quota. Free OneDrive has 5 GB (shared with Outlook and other Microsoft services) - tight for photos, often too small for video. Microsoft 365 Personal or Family has 1 TB. The product does not cap you at 5 GB. When OneDrive is full, uploads stop.

Disconnect

You can disconnect OneDrive from the album list. Uploads then stop; already uploaded gallery previews stay. Disconnect does not delete files on OneDrive - only deleting a photo or the album does.

Hosted storage

Later we will offer our own hosted storage if you do not want to connect Drive or OneDrive.
