How Google Drive works

Original photos and videos stay on your Google Drive. The gallery shows only smaller JPEG previews from us, and guests do not need a Google account.

Instead of Drive you can choose personal OneDrive. How OneDrive works.

How to set it up

  1. Create an album and choose Google Drive.
  2. After you save, Google asks for permission.
  3. Confirm even if Google says the app is not verified yet.
  4. A fotkyzakce.cz / album name folder appears on your Drive.
  5. Share the QR code. Guests upload without a Google account.

Where files go

The default path is fotkyzakce.cz / album name. On an empty album card you can pick a different folder; the app creates the album folder inside it. Guest originals go there. Original download and lightbox video come from Drive through us, not a public link.

What Google shows

A fotkyzakce.cz account is email and password. Connecting Drive is separate, after you create an album. Google asks whether we may save photos into the album folder - we cannot see the rest of your Drive. A warning that the app is not verified yet is normal for now. We still only ask for that folder, not your whole Drive.

Guests never see Drive

Guests do not approve Drive and do not need a Google account. A public link from the Drive folder would bypass the album PIN - so we do not use one.

The space is yours

Space is your Google account quota - Drive, Gmail, and Photos together. A free account has 15 GB; Google One has more. The product does not cap you at 15 GB. When Drive is full, uploads stop.

Disconnect

You can disconnect Drive from the album list. Uploads then stop; already uploaded gallery previews stay. Disconnect does not delete files on Drive - only deleting a photo or the album does.

Hosted storage

Later we will offer our own hosted storage if you do not want to connect Drive.
